C.O. Bigelow Apothecary Box
Packaged in an apothecary box illustrated with the iconic C.O. Bigelow storefront and Manhattan cityscape, each set features two of the chemistâs most popular formulas: Body Cleanser and Body Lotion. The refreshing wash provides a creamy lather and gently cleanses, while the silky lotion provides lightweight moisture as it conditions the skin.Â
We are offering the duo in two fragrances: one is infused with the scent of lemon, the other with rosemary and mint. They are a beautiful and thoughtful addition to any powder room and the packaging makes them the perfect gift.
Each set includes 10 fl. oz. Body Cleanser and 10 fl. oz. Body Lotion.
Choose between Lemon and Rosemary Mint.Â
About C.O. Bigelow Apothecaries:
âCivil War generals frequented the shop, according to old ledgers, and store records from 1905 show Samuel Clemens, aka Mark Twain, strolled the aisles alongside Clarisse Coudert, aka Mrs. CondĂ© Nast.ââ The Wall Street Journal
Nestled in the tiny neighborhood of Greenwich Village in New York City, C.O. Bigelow is the oldest apothecary in the United States. For nearly two centuries, Bigelow has served some of the countryâs most notable figures, including the dozens of writers and artists who have traditionally lived in the Village. Bigelow has remained true to tradition, transporting customers back to a time and place of personalized attention, customized formulas, and healing ,therapeutic, natural preparations.
The store, in a landmarked structure, has preserved its old-world charm. An ancient canvas ceiling, historic floor, wooden cabinets, classic mosaic, arched mirrors, and a neon sign that has shined for decades greet visitors. The New York City blackout of 1965 left most of the city without electricity for 13 hours, yet Bigelowâs original gas lighting allowed it to be one of the only pharmacies between Ontario and New York City to remain open.
The storeâs inventory is a brilliant mix of imported beauty, fragrance, and personal care items offered alongside products developed from old formulary books discovered in the Bigelow archives containing the recipes developed over the decades. All Bigelow products are inspired and many recreated from these books of tried-and-true preparations developed for customers over the decades.
âA New York drugstore nearly as storied as the city itself. C.O. Bigelow in Greenwich Village has helped heal Manhattanâs ailing for generations, thanks in large part to the work of a single family.ââThe New York Times
âNew York's most iconic âIYKYKâ beauty destinations: C.O. Bigelow. The apothecary-pharmacy has been a Greenwich Village mainstay since 1838, known for its curated selection of high-quality skincare, haircare, fragrance, and bodycare heroes.â âWho What Wear
