Edward Gorey’s humorously macabre art has delighted readers for more than fifty years. From The Epiplectic Bicycle to The Gashlycrumb Tinies, Gorey’s work has gone on to inspire the likes of Tim Burton, Daniel Handler (Lemony Snicket), Jim Henson, and more. The author and illustrator of more than one hundred works, he also created the animated opening sequence of the PBS television series Mystery!

Virginia Miller has been a dining, spirits and cocktail writer and editor since 2007, writing over sixty publications globally, and an editor/columnist at Zagat, Time Out, SF Bay Guardian and Table8. She consults in food and drink, co-created Avion’s Reserva Cristalino tequila for Pernod Ricard, is working on advanced agave spirits projects in Mexico, creating drink menus for Michelin-starred restaurants, and more.
